Recently I spoke with novelist and small business owner, Scarlett Braden about the business of self-publishing. Scarlett is a prolific indie author and the owner of Signature Author Services, a small marketing company located in Ecuador.
We talked about the challenges of the early stages of startup. Signature Marketing Services has been in operation for just about one year but is in the processes of expanding its service offerings. Scarlett has recently taken on a partner and has plans to grow the business from a part time income supplement (started to address a sudden change in her personal circumstances) into an income generating system that will support herself, her family and her new business partner.
We also chat a bit about the advantages of starting a business in a foreign county. And, as an author myself, I take advantage of some of Scarlett’s indie marketing expertise.
As always please let me know your thoughts. Is hearing from other small business owners useful, supportive, inspiring? Comment below.
