Back in the day when I was a devotee of the Law of Attraction I read all the books.
Reading books did not make me rich, successful or famous.
I was disappointed until I came across this positive thought from a little book written in 1910 by American thinker, Wallace Wattles. In his book, The Science of Getting Rich, Wattles advocates thinking clearly about what you want, but he also says:
“By thought you can cause the gold in the hearts of men to be compelled toward you, but your personal activity must be such that you can rightly receive what you want when it reaches you. You are not to take it as charity, nor to steal it; you must give every man more in value than he gives you in cash value.”
– Wallace Wattles
To illustrate his point, Wattles paints an amusing picture. Your thinking can fill your pockets with gold, he explains, but your thoughts will not cause the gold to rise out of the earth, roll down the hill, mint itself into coins, and leap into your pocket.
All along the journey from raw ore to gold coin, someone must work to add value. Someone extracts the raw product out of the earth itself, another person will transform the raw ore into pure metal, and a third person in the production process will mint the gold into coins.
When this minted coin finally nears your pocket through the power of your own positive thinking, you must exchange a fair value for all the processing the precious metal has gone through thus far. In other words, if you want a million dollars, you had better have something worth a bit more than a million dollars to offer in the exchange.
“You must give every man more in value than he gives you in cash value.”
– Wallace Wattles
This idea of value exchange is critical to the creation of a successful business. What are you going to offer to you clients, your customers, your market? It must be something of value; more value to your market than the price you hope to charge.
If you are not yet ready to answer this question for yourself. I have something of value to offer you! I have recently developed several one-on-one coaching programs. You can self-coach yourself to a successful business but not by simply reading my book. You will have to do the thinking, analysis, and networking that is required. If you find you need more support and motivation than you find in a book alone, I am here, ready and willing to share my value with you. Contact me.
